Fun Rainy Day Boat Activities To Do With The Kids

"I'm booored..."  It's raining and the weather has kept you moored. Here's a list of fun activities to do with the kids to make the best of a soggy day aboard your boat.

• Grab a rod! Some of the best fishing is on a rainy day. If your marina allows it, try a few casts off the end of the dock.
• Hit the deck! Try your luck at a round of 'Go-Fish' or teach the kids an old classic, like 'Hearts' or 'Cribbage'.
• Puzzled? Gather around the table and work together to assemble a jigsaw puzzle.
• Knowledge is Power! Take advantage of the downtime and show & explain to the kids the different equipment on-board that's not commonly used. For example: Navigation Light/Anchor Light Switch. When are they used and why?
• Beam Me Up Scotty! Turn on the GPS  and check out the different boating destinations in your area.  Maybe even plan out your next trip!
• Where's the bookworm? Grab your blanket, snuggle up on your favourite chaise lounge, and dive deep into a couple books.

The options are endless! For most of us, our boating season is short. Don't let a rainy day prevent you from some deserved quality time with the family. The kids will thank you!
